Place Partnerships - Who Benefits?
Find out more about the benefits of Place-based working in Lincolnshire.
Active Lincolnshire’s Place Partnerships bring Sport England’s national vision to life at a local level.
By working collaboratively with partners and communities, we help create the conditions that make being active easier, more inclusive and more sustainable — delivering lasting benefits for residents, organisations and the wider local economy.
This place-based approach ensures that action is shaped by local insight, responds to real need and delivers meaningful, measurable impact.

Tackling inequalities
Our place-based work focuses on the areas of greatest inequalities in Lincolnshire and allows us to be ambitious and innovative in our approach. The difference being more active makes is more pronounced in communities facing inequalities. These inequalities include:
- Socio-economically deprived
- Long-term health conditions and/or disabilities
- Non-majority ethnic groups
- SEND (learning and/or emotional and/or mental health conditions)
- Women and girls
- Children and young people
- Older adults, aged 75+
What we learn from localised working, will give us the opportunity to share best practice and opportunities across Lincolnshire. Successful initiatives can be adapted to suit other communities. We are developing an understanding of the conditions of change needed, the similarities and differences across each area. It’s not a one size fits all.
Developing a more active community isn’t a singular project or a one off solution, it’s a collaborative approach with partners and communities to make a difference to the health of our communities. We empower the community and partners to be part of the change.
How Will The Funding be Used
How will the funding be used?
The funding will enable us to obtain a clear picture of what prevents activity and how to overcome barriers. It will help us to identify and understand local priorities via existing data and conducting further research into how community needs can be met.
