Active Lincolnshire is an inclusive employer

We are an inclusive employer and operate an inclusive, equitable and transparent recruitment and assessment process, underpinned by an organisational commitment to equality and diversity. We actively encourage applications from candidates from diverse backgrounds who can bring an array of skills and experience to our organisation.

How we recruit

We’re committed to making sure every applicant is assessed solely on merit and relevant experience to do the job. As an employer, we actively seek to ensure that our workforce reflects the communities we serve, recognising that this makes us better able to understand their needs and priorities. We can only do this by ensuring that the people who work for us are the best they can be irrespective of age, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, disability, marital status, religion or belief.

Disability Confident Committed

We value the ideas and contributions from everybody and welcome and support difference. Our aim is to make sure that equality, diversity and inclusion run through everything we do as an employer. We encourage applications from people with disabilities, and guarantee interviews for applicants with disabilities that meet the requirement of the role as part of our commitment to the Disability Confident Scheme.

Age-friendly Employer Pledge

We've signed the Age-friendly Employer Pledge, a nationwide programme run by the Centre for Ageing Better. By signing the pledge, we're showing our commitment to older workers and making our workplace age friendly. This means we’re taking positive action to strengthen how we recruit, retain and develop employees aged 50 and over. As part of the pledge, we benefit from a wider and more diverse talent pool for every role, while ensuring older workers can continue to thrive and make valuable contributions to our organisation. Embracing an age-inclusive approach also allows us to harness the innovation, experience and productivity that multigenerational workforces bring.

Menopause Workplace Pledge

We have signed the Menopause Workplace Pledge, recognising menopause as a workplace issue and ensuring those affected feel supported. By signing the pledge, we are committing to encouraging open, positive conversations, providing access to information and support, and taking meaningful action to build an inclusive environment. We are also working with Every-One and their Peri Meri Menopause Moments Project, developing our policy and delivering training for all staff.
