Our Impact

Over the past year, Active Lincolnshire has continued working with partners and communities across the county to create more opportunities for people to be active.
Our 2025/26 Impact Report showcases a year of growth, collaboration and most of all positive impact across Lincolnshire. Here are some of the highlights.
Supporting a stronger physical activity sector
This year, we focused on strengthening the organisations and people who make activity possible within our county. Following engagement with 96 organisations through our Your Active Voice survey, we launched the Lincolnshire Sport & physical Activity Network (LSPAN) to bring partners together, share learning and tackle shared challenges.
We also invested £123k in workforce development, supporting 118 learners and funding 127 qualifications to help grow skills and capacity across the sector.
Championing inclusion and tackling inequalities
Creating opportunities for everyone to be active remains at the heart of our work. Through partnerships and targeted programmes, including our Wheelchair Sport programme, we have continued to remove barriers to participation for underrepresented communities, people with disabilities and those living with long-term health conditions.
By utilising a legacy fleet of 160 sport wheelchairs and 16 trailers, partners have helped generate more than 12,000 opportunities for participation across Lincolnshire.
Working in places where change is needed most
A key focus this year has been our place-based approach in Boston, South Holland and East Lindsey. By working closely with residents, schools, community groups and local organisations, we are helping shape solutions based on local insight and need.
One example is our Active Schools Test and Learn programme in Boston, which engaged more than 500 children, families and stakeholders, helping us better understand the barriers to physical activity in different communities.
Building safer spaces for physical activity
We continued to invest in safeguarding, welfare and workforce development to help create safer, more welcoming environments for everyone taking part in sport and physical activity.
During 2025/26, 20 clubs accessed safeguarding and welfare learning, while 87% of learners reported increased confidence and 97% felt better equipped to carry out their role. Initiatives such as Be Safe, Have Fun have also helped strengthen good practice across the county.
Looking ahead
While we are proud of what has been achieved during 2025/26, we know there is more to do. Together with our partners, we remain committed to tackling inequalities, supporting local communities and creating more opportunities for people across Lincolnshire to lead active lives.
