CEO Recognised with Outstanding Governance Award
We are delighted to announce that our CEO, Emma Tatlow, has won the Outstanding Governance Contribution award at the Sports Governance Academy (SGA) Awards.
This award recognises individuals who have made a positive and sustained contribution to governance, going above and beyond to encourage, support, and raise awareness of good governance.
The winners were announced at this years SGA Annual Conference in front of 500 delegates, in the room and online, from a range of organisations representing the sport and physical activity sector. The awards celebrate the fantastic work being delivered across sports governance and showcase the dedication, talent and achievements of the SGA community.
The judges praised Emma for combining “vision, courage and practical leadership” to create governance at Active Lincolnshire that is “transparent, inclusive and impactful.” They noted that her work has reshaped how decisions are made, strengthened stakeholder trust, and improved outcomes for communities across Lincolnshire — positioning us as a trailblazer in our sector.
Reflecting on the award, Emma said:
“It is such an honour to receive this award. The whole team and board at Active Lincolnshire have contributed to our approach to good governance … For a small team we pack a big punch and make great impact.
In our last staff survey 100% of our team agreed that the organisation values inclusivity … that is down to our commitment of living good governance through our values and behaviours, making them more than a policy or plan.”
This award is a national recognition of our values-led governance model and the collaborative, community-focused culture we’ve built. We’re excited to use this momentum to continue strengthening our governance and delivering long-term impact across Lincolnshire.
