Our Impact 2024 - 25
At Active Lincolnshire, our mission is clear: to enable more people to be more active, more often. As the county’s designated Active Partnership, we work at the heart of Lincolnshire’s physical activity system – connecting, enabling and influencing organisations, partners and communities to tackle inactivity and remove barriers to participation.
Our Impact Report outlines some of the highlights of our work between April 2024 and March 2025, showing how we've been making a positive difference to the health and wellbeing of Lincolnshire residents by increasing opportunities to be active for all.
With the launch of our 3 year business plan in 2024 A transformative journey towards a healthier, more active future, we reaffirmed our commitment to creating lasting impact across the county. During 2024/25 we refined the future direction of the organisation, working to ensure we are ready to effectively maximise the Sport England Place Expansion programme, which has seen funding awarded for working in East Lindsey and Boston and South Holland.
As we build on the progress outlined in this report, we remain committed to breaking down barriers, tackling inequality, and continuing our journey together to create a more active, healthier county.
This impact report showcases the breadth of our work and the tangible difference it makes in helping people across Lincolnshire experience the many benefits of being active. At the heart of our approach is collaboration - with local organisations, community groups, clubs, and policy influencers - all playing a vital role in shaping environments where being active is easier and more accessible for everyone. Over the past year, we've deepened our focus on working in place, with Sport England investment for development work in East Lindsey and Boston confirmed in February. Encouraging more people to be active, more often, is a collective effort. We're grateful to all those working alongside us to realise our shared vision: a Lincolnshire where everyone has the opportunity to be active every day.

Highlights of our Work
We’re proud of the progress made during 2024/25. A few of the achievements highlighted in the report are:
We continued to deepen our understanding of the county’s physical activity skills landscape and played a key role in developing a stronger, more skilled workforce. With thanks to the UK Shared Prosperity Fund ‘Active Communities’ (East Lindsey and South Holland) grant funding, we have delivered a sustainable skills programme in these two Districts. This collaborative programme linked skills development with employment opportunities and provided tailored qualifications alongside core training in safeguarding, mental health, and tackling inequalities.
A key legacy of this is the launch of the Active Skills Hub, a new online platform offering a central resource for training, career pathways, and job opportunities across the physical activity sector in Lincolnshire.
In November 2024 we celebrated the 20th anniversary of our Lincolnshire Sport and Physical Activity Awards. The awards showcase and celebrate outstanding individuals, groups and organisations from across the county. Hosted at The Engine Shed in Lincoln by BBC’s Rob Makepeace and local Olympic swimmer Freya Colbert, they shared emotional stories from across eleven award categories.
In February this year investment for development work to start in East Lindsey and Boston was confirmed (read more here). Our work has been focuses on engaging partners and organisations.
Our work continues to be guided by a deep commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion – and we were delighted to be recognised for this work by our award for Diversity and Inclusion at the 2025 Lincolnshire Business Awards. During this year we have launched a new Inclusive Language Guide recognising that use of non-inclusive language can be one of the biggest barriers to participation, we worked with partners to develop our this guide. We also continue to embed environmental responsibility into everything we do, and to support and invest in our people, who are central to delivering our shared vision.
Together with our funders, partners and communities, we’re moving towards a future where everyone in Lincolnshire has the opportunity to lead a healthy and active life. Take a look at the report to read more details about the work we have done.
