Creating a Theory of Change for Boston
We recently brought together a wide network of partners and stakeholders to co-create a Theory of Change for Boston - a shared vision that will guide and energise the next phase of our place-based work.
Our Place Partnership across Boston, East Lindsey and South Holland is igniting a collective movement to remove barriers and empower more people to live active, healthier and more connected lives.
As part of the development phase of the Sport England Place Partnership, we will submit a Theory of Change for the three districts to progress to the next stage of the Place Universal Expansion offer - an unprecedented opportunity to secure further investment that supports happier and healthier communities through movement and activity.

Working Together to realise our shared Ambitions
Our recent session at Jakeman’s Stadium in Boston was filled with energy and collaboration as we worked together to:
- Agree the longer-term outcomes we want to achieve
- Map the key activities and approaches already taking place
- Explore the conditions that need to be in place
- Capture rich insights to begin shaping the steps required to drive systemic change with our communities
It became clear that our shared ambition can only be realised by aligning our efforts and working collectively. Stakeholders across Boston expressed a strong desire to create conditions where residents can make positive choices, feel healthier and happier, and access the opportunities that matter most to them.
Together, we are striving to build safer, cleaner and more cohesive neighbourhoods — places where communities feel ownership, pride, and the confidence to thrive.
