Funded Projects

Hartsholme Cricket Club awarded Together Fund grant

Hartsholme Cricket Club awarded Together Fund grant

Hartsholme Cricket Club has been awarded a £3,520 grant from Sport England’s Together Fund. The funding will support the club to create more opportunities for boys and girls from 5-11 to take part in club cricket as a regular opportunity to be active.

Hartholme Cricket Club is a large family-friendly club based in South-West Lincoln. The Junior section has approximately 80 boys and girls playing cricket from beginner’s softball games to competitive under 15s league cricket. The club is committed and organised so that as youngsters exit the Junior section at 16 there are games available to them in adult cricket.

"The future of our club is in the youngsters we can enthuse about the game."

Following lockdown there has been a drop in participation and membership for junior members, this project aims to reengage children with crickets which has been popular in the local area. The investment will provide 6 hours of coaching per week for 6-months, supporting boys and girls from 5 to 11 years old to access age suitable activities and experience club cricket.

Outcomes of the project will include:

  • To offer accessible cricket for boys and girls from 5 years of age
  • Engage 40 children increasing their activity levels
  • Enable participants to engage in cricket throughout the year
  • To work with local primary schools to attract children to enjoy cricket
