Active Lincolnshire in partnership with the Centre for Ageing Better are hosting a collaborative learning opportunity for physical activity providers and partners to accelerate learning and development for the relationship between physical activity and older adults.

As a key stakeholder in Lincolnshire, we are inviting you/your organisation to join us on Wednesday 8th February at the New Life Centre, Sleaford from 1.30pm for attendance at the Older Adults and Physical Activity Workshop.

The aims of this workshop are for attendees to better understand older adults, to develop practical actions to apply your work and identify ways in which to enhance promotion for this demographic.


Did you know?

  • 43% of Lincolnshire’s population are aged 56 and over
  • Lincolnshire’s East Lindsey has the third highest median age (52 years) for a Local Authority across England and Wales
  • The population aged 65 and over in the UK is projected to increase by almost a third in the next 20 years.


So what?

This workshop will frame the collective journey we are on as contributors to the Let’s Move Lincolnshire strategy, to understand the county’s unique position regarding this demographic. Resulting in the sport and physical activity sector better enabling more people to be more active, more often.

Desired Outcomes:

  • The workforce to better understand and meet individual needs
  • More resident physical activity stories are collected and shared
  • Increased communication of physical activity through wider network of voices and channels
  • Increased cross-sector collaboration
  • Better connected and aligned resources and processes across sector and non-sector systems
