Active Practice Charter
Sign up to the Active Practice Charter and join the national network of GP practices making positive changes in their surgeries to boost staff and patient wellbeing.
The Active Practices Charter is an initiative by The Royal College of GPs and Sport England to inspire GP practices to commit to increasing activity and reducing sedentary behaviour in both staff and patients.
Its free to sign up, you just need to demonstrate that your practice has taken steps to:
- Reduce sedentary behaviour in staff;
- Reduce sedentary behaviour in patient;
- Increase physical activity in staff;
- Increase physical activity in patients;
- Partner with a local physical activity.
Practices can join by making simple changes to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of patients and staff. Signposting to local exercise classes or partnering with a nearby activity provider can also support the Charter.
The registration is easy to complete, and surgeries will receive a certificate recognising their status to display in reception areas.
