  • 2020

    Nettleham Cricket Club Quiz Night, Friday 1st May 2020
    Nettleham Cricket Club were due to hold a 24 hour Row/Bikeathon this weekend, raising funds for Adam’s Foundation, Rhys’ Foundation and MIND. Due to the coronavirus outbreak though, this unfortunately had to be postponed.
    However, they did put together a very well organised online quiz night via Zoom with 50 people taking part. The quiz night was very successful and raised £330 for both Adam’s Foundation and Rhys’ Foundation.

    Pottergate Golf Club Donation, February 2020
    Pottergate Seniors have raised a further £200 for Adam’s charity through their Seniors Winter League. As always, we are extremely grateful for the support from Henry Macaulay and everyone else involved with organising the events. Their trophy is named after Adam, which is a great tribute.

    Lincoln Moorlands Railway Golf Society, 15th September 2019
    Many thanks to Lincoln Moorlands Railway Golf Society who have raised £210 for Adam’s Foundation at their Memorial Weekend at Cambridgeshire Golf Club, Bar Hill.
    Adam was a member of the Golf Society and it means a lot that they continue to support the charity.

    One of our recipients, Izzy Vinter and her family sold some of their toys during the summer and have made a generous donation of £30 to Adam’s Foundation. A fantastic piece of generosity.

    Many thanks to Joseph Wilson for donating a Chelsea Shirt and Football signed by all of the players from their 2018 Community Shield match. The items raised £200 for Adam’s Foundation.

    Lincoln University Annual Charity Event, Friday 29th March 2019
    Second year sport students at Lincoln University which Adam attended in 2007, raised £123.65 for the charity through a fundraising bench ball tournament. It means a lot to all of those that knew Adam that the university still remembers him.

    Adam’s 30th / Ruth’s 60th Joint Celebration Friday 1st March 2019
    To mark what would have been Adam’s 30th birthday, a party was held at Cherry Willingham and Reepham Village Hall with live music from Conspiracy. Donations were made from those who attended with over £500 being raised for Adam’s Charity.

    Many thanks to Pottergate Golf Club who yet again raised funds for Adam’s Foundation. They raised £160 through their seniors winters league trophy which has kindly been named in memory of Adam.

    Lottie Long Legs Christmas Robin, December 2018
    Nicci Spink, who has raised a lot of money for Adam’s Foundation over the past ten years through various fundraising events, raised £50 for the charity through the sale of Robin Christmas Cards and Wrapping paper. This was done through her ‘Lottie Long legs’ craft page which you can follow on Facebook.

    Many Thanks to the Golf Society, which Adam was a member of, who raised £200 for his Foundation at their memorial weekend in Shipley. It is much appreciated.
    London Marathon, Sunday 22nd April 2018
    Deb Daly ran the London marathon in very warm conditions, raising funds yet again for Adam’s Foundation. Deb raised an amazing £710. Thank you to Deb and everyone who sponsored her.

    Lincoln University Charity Dodgeball Match, Saturday 17th March 2018
    Many thanks to BSc Sport Development and Coaching students at Lincoln University who raised £182 through a dodgeball tournament and raffle. It means a lot that the University still remembers Adam.

    This years football day for Adam was a special one as it was the 10th and last one. So many people have played football for Adam over the past nine years including many of his friends and family which always means a lot and this year was no different.
    25 teams took part altogether with Harchester United winning the mens tournament and Nettleham winning the ladies. Many Thanks to all of those who helped with the organising and running of the tournament.
    Thank you as well to one of our recipients, Thomas Talbot, who came to present the medals and the trophies to the winners and runners up.

    Holkham Half Ironman, Sunday 2nd July 2017
    A massive congratulations and thank you to one of the foundations trustees and Adam’s form tutor from school, Karen Nicholson, who completed her first Half Ironman at Holkham! Karen completed the course in an impressive time of 6 hours and 28 minutes and raised £615 for the charity.

    London Marathon, Sunday 23rd April 2017
    Thank you very much to Deb Daly who raised funds for Adam’s Foundation for the third year in a row by running the London Marathon.

    Lincoln 10k, Sunday 2nd April 2017
    We’re extremely grateful to Claire Holmes who ran the Lincoln 10k again this year and raised funds for Adam’s Foundation again.

    Thank you to everyone who supported Adam’s Ball to celebrate his Birthday. Another successful evening raised over £1,500. It was great to see so many of his friends and family there.

    Oasis Unplugged, Lincoln Drill Hall, Tuesday 28th February 2017
    Many thanks to Dean Reed and Shane Kelley for putting together an Oasis Tribute Night at Lincoln Drill to raise funds in memory of Adam. Dean once coached Adam at badminton when he was still at school. It was great to see Jason Dobbs, one of Adam’s old team mates, performing as well as part of the support act.

    Lincoln Half Marathon, Sunday 2nd October 2016
    Lisa Loy, Adam’s cousin and Foundation trustee, ran her first ever half marathon in Lincoln to raise funds for the charity. Despite it being a gruelling course, Lisa completed it in 2 hours and 8 minutes and raised an incredible £530. Well done Lisa.

    Many Thanks to Tony Thoy and Pottergate Golf Club who raised a superb £338 for Adam’s Foundation following a Charity Golf Match and Auction. Golf was one of Adam’s favourite sports!

    Wing Walk, Saturday 13th August 2016
    Well done to Nicci Spink who raised over £800 for Adam’s Foundation by completing a wing walk at RAF Church Fenton. Nicci was strapped to the top of a plane for 20 minutes and took to the skies in Yorkshire. Thank you for your support.

    Ali and Shawn Richards very generously raised £401 at Shawn’s 50th birthday through a race night.

    London to Surrey 100 mile bike ride, Sunday 31st July 2016
    Thank you very much to Karen Greetham who raised approximately £300 by cycling 100 miles from the Olympic Park in London, all the way out to Surrey and back to London, finishing at the Mall.

    Adam’s Football Day, Cherry Willingham, Sunday 10th July 2016
    This years football day was the biggest to date with 25 teams taking part and many old school, college and football friends being involved.
    A fourth pitch being used for the first time, a record number of teams and great weather meant that the day was a huge success and well over £1,000 was raised.
    The mens tournament was won by North Lindum Hawks with Sleaford Ladies taking home the ladies trophy.

    Lincoln Cannons Volleyball Club event for Naz Sutton, Sunday 24th April 2016
    The Lincoln Cannons Volleyball Club held a special event in recognition of their head coach Navaz Sutton, who has been involved in Volleyball in Lincoln for several years. Players from the past and present took part and Ben Pipes (Team GB captain from London 2012) also played. The special day raised raised £211.

    London Marathon, Sunday 24th April 2016
    Once again, Deb Daly ran the London Marathon for Adam’s Foundation. As a charity, we have previously sponsored Deb’s daughter, who is at the Royal Ballet School in London. Deb ran the marathon in an impressive time of 3 hours 38 minutes. Well done and Thank you for the support!

    North Lindum Hawks Charity Match, Saturday 23rd March 2016, Ravendale Sports Ground, Lincoln
    North Lindum Hawks Junior Football Club held their annual community day at Ravendale with various footballing activities and stalls to raise money for the club. There was also a match between the clubs Coaches and Parents with every one paying £5 to play. All funds raised from the match were kindly donated to Adam’s Foundation. Thank you for your support!

    Claire Holmes, who’s son Jack has previously been sponsored by the Foundation, ran her first ever 10k and chose to raise funds for Adam’s Charity. We’re very proud and grateful for the £265 that Claire raised.

    Online Event and Fundraising evening at Plough, Thursday 24th March 2016, Sturton by Stow.
    Nichola Clark, one of the foundations recipients has raised funds through two separate events. Nichola raised £55 through selling Health and Well being products through an online event and then a further £216 at a fundraising event at the Plough in Sturton by Stow. This is much appreciated and great to see those we have supported giving something back.

    Adam’s 27th Birthday, Charity Ball, Saturday 12th March 2016, Jocastas
    The annual Ball to celebrate Adam’s Birthday was supported by well over 200 people and was another huge success. The evening raised approximately £3,000 and included live music by the impressive ‘Spot On’ and an auction.

    Lincoln University Cycle and Rowathon, Tuesday 23rd February 2016
    Adam’s former university, Lincoln University, organised a seven hour cycle and row outside of Lincoln’s Engine Shed and Library for Adam’s Foundation. Many thanks to Melissa Poole and Tom Ash for organising the day and all of those that took part. They raised £77 for the foundation.

    Lincoln Moorlands Railway Golf Society Donation
    Many thanks to the Golf Society for their annual donation to Adam’s foundation. The Society that Adam was once part of, travelled to Spain this year and raised £214.

    Tennis Tournament, Friday 28th August 2015, Haxey Tennis Club Courts, Haxey, North Lincolnshire.
    Thank you very much to Ann and Alan, Adam’s Auntie and Uncle, for organising a tennis tournament to raise funds for the foundation. The American Style tournament took place in Haxey.

    Adam’s Football Day, Cherry Willingham, Sunday 9th August 2015
    The annual football day for Adam took place at his former school in Cherry Willingham. Despite the humid conditions, it was a very successful day with over £1,000 raised for the foundation.
    Many thanks have to be given to the various people who gave up their time to make the day a success. Thank you as well to ‘YourHome Property’ for sponsoring the event for the second year in a row.
    One of the foundations recipients, Emily Moss, came down and presented the trophies and medals to Lincoln Buzzards and Lincoln Moorlands Railway who won the mens and ladies tournaments respectively.

    Reepham Primary School Donation, Thursday 16th July 2015
    Adam’s former primary school very kindly raised money for his foundation through the collection of coins and sticking them on to the Olympics Rings. £150 was raised for the charity. Thank you for your support.

    London Marathon, Sunday 26th April 2015
    Many thanks to Deb Daly, who ran the London Marathon this year for the foundation. Deb’s daughter, Anna, is at the Royal Ballet School in London and has previously been sponsored by Adam’s foundation. Deb raised over £1,000 for the charity.

    A great night was had at Jocastas for Adam’s birthday celebrations. With over 200 friends supporting the event, over £2,000 was raised for the foundation.

    LSST Winter Obstacle Course December 2014
    Thank you very much to Will Wright and the staff and students of LSST who raised £161 just before Christmas by taking part in a winter obstacle course at the school.

    Tough Mudder and Le Petit Grand Prix, September 2014
    Thank you very much to Graham Hart who raised funds for the foundation after completing ‘Le Petit Grand Prix’, which is a 109 mile bike ride around the Lincolnshire Wolds and also the North West Tough Mudder. Graham raised funds for the British Heart Foundation and Adam’s Foundation.

    Coast to Coast, 7 Marathons in 7 Days, 11th August to 17th August 2014
    Well done to Adam’s brother, Ben, who completed an impressive 7 marathons in a week to raise funds for Adam’s fund. Starting on Monday at Morecambe on the west coast, Ben ran approximately 182 miles and finished in Skegness, late afternoon on the Sunday. Huge thank you to all those came out to support along the way and also those that sponsored. A special mention to Jonathan Moss as well who provided the support each day.     The annual football day for Adam was a huge success again with over £1,200 being raised. 19 teams took part this year with Golden Eagle taking the trophy with a 1-0 victory in the final against Trent Valley FC. Many of Adam’s friends and family played again and it was great to see a good turnout.

    Many thanks to the council who donated all funds raised from their annual 6 a side tournament to Adam’s charity. An extremely hot day made it tough going for those that played. Thanks to all those that supported the event.

    Woodhall Spa Triathlon, Sunday 29th June 2014

    Nicci Spink completed her first Triathlon in a fantastic 1:28:43. Nicci raised over £1,000 for Adam’s fund which is a superb effort and we are extremely grateful for this.

    For the past few months, the students at Adam’s former school have been collecting small change through collection jars in each classroom. The idea which was thought up by Adam’s former head of year, Craig Brewer raised £88.44. Thank you to all those that donated.

    Izzy and Charlotte’s 10km walk, 7th June 2014
    Girl guides, Izzy and Charlotte, walked 10km in very challenging conditions around Wragby. Despite the weather, the girls raised £97 and completed their Baden Powell challenge. Thank you girls.

    London Marathon, Sunday 13th April 2014
    Stuart Brien, who is one of the funds trustees, ran the London Marathon this year for Adam’s fund and also St Barnabas Hospice. He completed it in just over 5 hours and was an amazing achievement. Thanks Stuart. Please support him and visit his Just Giving Page.

    Members of Witham Hill Gymnastics Club and Nick Carter ran the Lincoln 10k this year and raised funds for Adam’s charity. Thank you very much for the support.

    Adam’s 25th Birthday, Charity Ball, 15th March 2014, Jocastas

    The annual ball to celebrate Adam’s birthday was hailed as one of the best yet with 200 people attending. Many friends and family were there on the evening alongside several sports men and women who have been supported by the fund. Band’s Rubber Soul and Amici provided the entertainment.

    Quiz Night, 25th October 2013, Cherry Willingham and Reepham Village Hall.
    Stuart Brien and Glenn Mason hosted a quiz night at the village hall to raise money for the fund with over £400 being raised. Thank you very much to Stuart and Glenn for their support and to all those that attended.

    North Hykeham Town Council Donation, 17th October 2013

    A generous donation has been made by North Hykeham Town Council after Cherry Willingham Community School Teacher, Ross Little, served as the Mayor of the town from 2012 to 2013. Ross chose Adam’s fund as one of his two charities for the year and raised over £600.

    At the LMR Golf Society charity weekend this year, funds were raised in memory of two of its former and well loved members, Alan Hodds and Adam. The day raised money for both the British Heart Foundation and Adam’s fund. Thank you very much to the society and its members for its continued support.

    Lincolnshire County Council & Friends 6-a-Side Tournament, Cherry Willingham 21st July 2013
    A big thank you to the Lincolnshire County Council, who had their annual 6-a-side football and family fun day yesterday.
    The day, which was organised by the Communications and Public Health teams, donated all money raised to Adam’s fund. Thank you to Jonathan Fitzgerald, Lisa Holmes and everybody else who helped the day run smoothly. Over £1,000 was raised between the two football tournaments.

    The sixth annual football tournament took place on a very hot summers day.
    Many of Adam’s friends played football on the day with The Inbetweeners retaining the trophy after beating Saxilby Singles Club on penalties.


    As well the tournament, there was a Crossbar Challenge, BBQ and bouncy castle.

    Adam’s 24th Birthday, Charity Ball, 16th March 2013, Jocastas
    Another successful ball was held to celebrate Adam’s 24th birthday. The event was the biggest since the first in 2009 and was attended by many of Adam’s friends and family. Fund recipients Andy Skinner, Lee Cupit and Kieran Tscherniawsky were in attendance as well as the family of Matthew Bates.

    Adam’s 6 a-side Football Tournament, Cherry Willingham, 15th July 2012
    The annual 6 a-side tournament was again a big success with another record amount of teams entering. With fantastic support, over £800 was raised.
    The day consisted of lots of football and a crossbar challenge (won by Max Heath), BBQ and bar, kids games and a raffle.
    The winners of the men’s tournament this year were The Inbetweeners, whilst Nettleham took the trophy again in the Ladies.
    The referees this year were Dean Stockbridge, Gary Campbell and Darren Wallhead. Without them the day would not have been possible.

    Lincolnshire County Council & Friends 6-a-Side Tournament, Cherry Willingham 17th June 2012
    A Euro 2012 themed football tournament organised by Lisa Holmes and Jonathan Fitzgerald from the county council’s communications and public health teams raised a lot of money for Adam’s fund. The tournament was contested by many well-known local organisations. There was also a BBQ and many family themed games for the kids.

    A gala was held by the CW2020 committee with various organisations from Cherry Willingham. The aim of the gala was to raise the profile of the the village. They kindly decided that money raised from the gala would be split between Adam’s fund and LIVES. Thank you for your support.

    Eastgate Club Sponsored Walk, 28th April 2012
    Lyn Turner of Eastgate Tennis and Squash Club helped to organise a 12 mile sponsored walk from Saxilby back to the club. 12 people took part raising £561 for the fund.

    This years ball was another huge success, being attended by many friends and family as well as Julian Adeniran and Andy Skinner, who are hoping to compete in this years Olympic and Paralympic games respectively.
    Both have received funding recently as have Jack Holmes and Matthew Bates whose families also attended the evening.

    The Lincoln Moorlands Railway Golf Society have yet again made a generous donation to the fund. The club has several competition days throughout the year with some of the funds raised being donated to Adam’s fund. Adam was once a keen golfer and was once a member of the club.

    Adam’s 6 a-side Football Tournament, Cherry Willingham Community School, 17th July 2011
    A record 24 teams (19 mens and 5 womens) entered the annual tournament, including many of Adam’s friends and family.
    The 2011 mens tournament was won by The Wolfpack, whilst Nettleham Ladies won the women’s.
    Thank you very much to all those who helped out on the day and Jim Gillespie for providing the medals once again. The referees this year were Ade Willans, Dean Stockbridge and Wayne.

    Another fantastic evening was celebrated by Adam’s friends and family at Jocastas. This years live band was The Manipulators who helped make the evening so special.

    Netball Match, Bishop Grosseteste University College, 8th December 2010
    A Charity Netball Match between male and female and students was held at Bishop Grosseteste with the students kindly donating the proceeds to the fund. Many Thanks to Sean Frecklington and Kyra Bartrum for their support.

    John O’Groats to Lands End Bike Ride 16th-29th August 2010
    Ben (Adam’s brother), Lee Coulson, Jonathan Moss and Sam Condon completed an epic ride over two weeks in memory of Adam. The money raised was split between the fund and also LIVES (Lincolnshire Integrated Voluntary Emergency Services).
    Over 900 miles were ridden through a range of weather conditions, though spirits remained high throughout. Many thanks to all that sponsored including The Lincolnshire CO OP, Charles Warner Ltd and The Simons Group Ltd.

    Moorlands Railway Golf Society, Golf Weekend 17th and 18th July 2010
    The Moorlands Railway Golf Society have kindly donated over £200 from their golf weekend at Morley Hayes, Derby.

    Adam’s 6 a-side Football Tournament, Cherry Willingham Community School, 18th July 2010

    The third annual football tournament for Adam was the most successful tournament so far, with 16 teams entering the mens tournament and 4 entering the ladies.
    A great turnout saw Inter Menan beat Moorlands Railway 3-0 in the mens final and Moorlands Railway Ladies beat Nettleham Ladies on penalties in the ladies final.
    Over £350 was raised. Thanks to all that attended.

    A big thank you to Stuart, Glenn and Gary who hosted an enjoyable evening and helped to raise over £300 for the fund.

    The second annual University Football Tournament organised by Matt Wilson and the University was a great success yet again and was well attended by the University friends of Adam and Daniel.

    Adam and Lana’s Fun Day/5 a-side Football Tournament, Cherry Willingham Playing Field, Sunday 9th August 2009
    The second annual football tournament was held in memory of Lana Francis, a former pupil from Cherry Willingham, as well as in memory of Adam. As well as the football, there were numerous other things going on including a BBQ, bouncy castles, face painting much more.
    There were 15 teams in the mens football tournament and five in the womens. The mens tournament turned out to be a very competitive event with a few surprises along the way. The final was won by Moorlands Railway Reserves this year as they beat Cherry Allstars 2-0 in the final. The womens tournament was very close as well, with the trophy going to Moorlands Railway Ladies B who overcame Bottesford Ladies in the final.
    A successful day with fantastic weather for all who came, raised over £1000. As well as Adam’s fund, this money will go to Support For Soldiers, in memory of Lana.

    Adam’s Gran, Dorothy, hosted a second annual Garden Party after last years success and raised an excellent £400.

    Emma Curtis and Alison Roberts, colleagues of Ben and Ruth, bravely jumped out a of a plane at 13,000 feet to raise money for Adam’s Fund. Thank you Emma and Alison.

    London Marathon, 26th April 2009 and Lincoln 10k March 29th 2009
    Catherine Tupper, A Nurse from Lincoln County Hospital, kindly ran the marathon in memory of Adam. She found it an amazing experience and hopes to run it again next year. She raised £800 for the fund. Thank you.

    Lee Coulson, a friend of Adam’s, ran his first 10k to raise money for the fund and also to raise money for LIVES. Thank you very much Lee.

    A huge thank you to Adam’s Aunt and Uncle, Ann and Alan, who organised a Ceilidh dance with live music by local band Pierrot. Despite the cold and icy weather, the hall was full and the evening was a great success with over £400 being raised.

    Donation From Lincoln Moorlands Railway Golf Society

    One of Adam’s friends, Matt Wilson, kindly organised a football tournament through the University of Lincoln to raise money for the Fund and also in memory of Daniel Sibley, another University Student who passed away in December. It was very heart warming to see so many students taking part. Thank you very much Matt.

    Launch Day of the Fund/ 11 a side football tournament 24th August 2008
    Plough Athletic (Now known as FC Sippers), Moorlands Railway, Moorlands Railway Over 35’s and a Cherry XI took part in an 11 a side football tournament that coincided with the launch of the Charity. Moorlands Railway and Plough Athletic contested the final, which went to penalties after a 1-1 draw in normal time. Railway edged it 5-4 to win the trophy, which was kindly donated by Jim Gillespie. Thank you to everybody who played, Darren Holmes and the Moorlands Railway Club for hosting the event, Jasmine and Jenny for doing the BBQ and to Tesco, Fosters butchers, Steve Burrows and Lincoln City FC for donating raffle prizes.

    Garden Party 12th July
    Adam’s Gran, Dorothy, hosted a wonderful garden party at her home in Clarborough with cream teas, cake stall, tombola and raffle. Despite the threat of rain, it was a successful day. Thanks Gran.

    Dog Walk 5th July
    Mary Maguire, a colleague of Adam’s mum, Ruth, organised a sponsored dog walk around Whisby Nature trail. Many colleagues took part with their dogs and raised an impressive £304. Thank you Mrs Maguire.

    Race Nights 4th July and 8th August
    Moorlands Railway Club hosted the first Race Night to raise money for the fund. It was organised by Darren Holmes and Steve (Adam’s dad) so a big thank you to them and also to Becca, Jess, Leanne and Jasmine who did the tote. Another Race Night was organised by Stuart Sleeman (Adam’s barber for many years) at Monks Road WMC. A big thank you to Stuart too.

    A huge thank you to Clare McGeachie who swam 100 lengths of North Kesteven Swimming Pool and raised £420. Clare very generously donated half the money to the Adam Gibbons Sports Foundation Fund half to victims of the Sri Lanka Tsunami.

Nettleham Cricket Club Quiz Night, Friday 1st May 2020
Nettleham Cricket Club were due to hold a 24 hour Row/Bikeathon this weekend, raising funds for Adam’s Foundation, Rhys’ Foundation and MIND. Due to the coronavirus outbreak though, this unfortunately had to be postponed.
However, they did put together a very well organised online quiz night via Zoom with 50 people taking part. The quiz night was very successful and raised £330 for both Adam’s Foundation and Rhys’ Foundation.

Pottergate Golf Club Donation, February 2020
Pottergate Seniors have raised a further £200 for Adam’s charity through their Seniors Winter League. As always, we are extremely grateful for the support from Henry Macaulay and everyone else involved with organising the events. Their trophy is named after Adam, which is a great tribute.

Lincoln University Annual Charity Event, Friday 29th March 2019
Second year sport students at Lincoln University which Adam attended in 2007, raised £123.65 for the charity through a fundraising bench ball tournament. It means a lot to all of those that knew Adam that the university still remembers him.

This years football day for Adam was a special one as it was the 10th and last one. So many people have played football for Adam over the past nine years including many of his friends and family which always means a lot and this year was no different.
25 teams took part altogether with Harchester United winning the mens tournament and Nettleham winning the ladies. Many Thanks to all of those who helped with the organising and running of the tournament.

A massive congratulations and thank you to one of the foundations trustees and Adam’s form tutor from school, Karen Nicholson, who completed her first Half Ironman at Holkham! Karen completed the course in an impressive time of 6 hours and 28 minutes and raised £615 for the charity.

Lisa Loy, Adam’s cousin and Foundation trustee, ran her first ever half marathon in Lincoln to raise funds for the charity. Despite it being a gruelling course, Lisa completed it in 2 hours and 8 minutes and raised an incredible £530. Well done Lisa.

This years football day was the biggest to date with 25 teams taking part and many old school, college and football friends being involved.
A fourth pitch being used for the first time, a record number of teams and great weather meant that the day was a huge success and well over £1,000 was raised.
The mens tournament was won by North Lindum Hawks with Sleaford Ladies taking home the ladies trophy.

Lincoln Cannons Volleyball Club event for Naz Sutton, Sunday 24th April 2016
The Lincoln Cannons Volleyball Club held a special event in recognition of their head coach Navaz Sutton, who has been involved in Volleyball in Lincoln for several years. Players from the past and present took part and Ben Pipes (Team GB captain from London 2012) also played. The special day raised raised £211.

London Marathon, Sunday 24th April 2016
Once again, Deb Daly ran the London Marathon for Adam’s Foundation. As a charity, we have previously sponsored Deb’s daughter, who is at the Royal Ballet School in London. Deb ran the marathon in an impressive time of 3 hours 38 minutes. Well done and Thank you for the support!

North Lindum Hawks Charity Match, Saturday 23rd March 2016, Ravendale Sports Ground, Lincoln
North Lindum Hawks Junior Football Club held their annual community day at Ravendale with various footballing activities and stalls to raise money for the club. There was also a match between the clubs Coaches and Parents with every one paying £5 to play. All funds raised from the match were kindly donated to Adam’s Foundation. Thank you for your support!

Nichola Clark, one of the foundations recipients has raised funds through two separate events. Nichola raised £55 through selling Health and Well being products through an online event and then a further £216 at a fundraising event at the Plough in Sturton by Stow. This is much appreciated and great to see those we have supported giving something back.

The annual Ball to celebrate Adam’s Birthday was supported by well over 200 people and was another huge success. The evening raised approximately £3,000 and included live music by the impressive ‘Spot On’ and an auction.

Adam’s former university, Lincoln University, organised a seven hour cycle and row outside of Lincoln’s Engine Shed and Library for Adam’s Foundation. Many thanks to Melissa Poole and Tom Ash for organising the day and all of those that took part. They raised £77 for the foundation.

Coast to Coast, 7 Marathons in 7 Days, 11th August to 17th August 2014
Well done to Adam’s brother, Ben, who completed an impressive 7 marathons in a week to raise funds for Adam’s fund. Starting on Monday at Morecambe on the west coast, Ben ran approximately 182 miles and finished in Skegness, late afternoon on the Sunday. Nicci Spink completed her first Triathlon in a fantastic 1:28:43. Nicci raised over £1,000 for Adam’s fund which is a superb effort and we are extremely grateful for this.

The annual ball to celebrate Adam’s birthday was hailed as one of the best yet with 200 people attending. Many friends and family were there on the evening alongside several sports men and women who have been supported by the fund. Band’s Rubber Soul and Amici provided the entertainment.

A generous donation has been made by North Hykeham Town Council after Cherry Willingham Community School Teacher, Ross Little, served as the Mayor of the town from 2012 to 2013. Ross chose Adam’s fund as one of his two charities for the year and raised over £600.

Lincolnshire County Council & Friends 6-a-Side Tournament, Cherry Willingham 21st July 2013
A big thank you to the Lincolnshire County Council, who had their annual 6-a-side football and family fun day yesterday.
The day, which was organised by the Communications and Public Health teams, donated all money raised to Adam’s fund. Thank you to Jonathan Fitzgerald, Lisa Holmes and everybody else who helped the day run smoothly. Over £1,000 was raised between the two football tournaments.

The sixth annual football tournament took place on a very hot summers day.
Many of Adam’s friends played football on the day with The Inbetweeners retaining the trophy after beating Saxilby Singles Club on penalties.


As well the tournament, there was a Crossbar Challenge, BBQ and bouncy castle.

Another successful ball was held to celebrate Adam’s 24th birthday. The event was the biggest since the first in 2009 and was attended by many of Adam’s friends and family. Fund recipients Andy Skinner, Lee Cupit and Kieran Tscherniawsky were in attendance as well as the family of Matthew Bates.

The annual 6 a-side tournament was again a big success with another record amount of teams entering. With fantastic support, over £800 was raised.
The day consisted of lots of football and a crossbar challenge (won by Max Heath), BBQ and bar, kids games and a raffle.
The winners of the men’s tournament this year were The Inbetweeners, whilst Nettleham took the trophy again in the Ladies.
The referees this year were Dean Stockbridge, Gary Campbell and Darren Wallhead. Without them the day would not have been possible.

Lincolnshire County Council & Friends 6-a-Side Tournament, Cherry Willingham 17th June 2012
A Euro 2012 themed football tournament organised by Lisa Holmes and Jonathan Fitzgerald from the county council’s communications and public health teams raised a lot of money for Adam’s fund. The tournament was contested by many well-known local organisations. There was also a BBQ and many family themed games for the kids.

A gala was held by the CW2020 committee with various organisations from Cherry Willingham. The aim of the gala was to raise the profile of the the village. They kindly decided that money raised from the gala would be split between Adam’s fund and LIVES. Thank you for your support.

Lyn Turner of Eastgate Tennis and Squash Club helped to organise a 12 mile sponsored walk from Saxilby back to the club. 12 people took part raising £561 for the fund.

This years ball was another huge success, being attended by many friends and family as well as Julian Adeniran and Andy Skinner, who are hoping to compete in this years Olympic and Paralympic games respectively.
Both have received funding recently as have Jack Holmes and Matthew Bates whose families also attended the evening.

The Lincoln Moorlands Railway Golf Society have yet again made a generous donation to the fund. The club has several competition days throughout the year with some of the funds raised being donated to Adam’s fund. Adam was once a keen golfer and was once a member of the club.

John O’Groats to Lands End Bike Ride 16th-29th August 2010
Ben (Adam’s brother), Lee Coulson, Jonathan Moss and Sam Condon completed an epic ride over two weeks in memory of Adam. The money raised was split between the fund and also LIVES (Lincolnshire Integrated Voluntary Emergency Services).
Over 900 miles were ridden through a range of weather conditions, though spirits remained high throughout. Many thanks to all that sponsored including The Lincolnshire CO OP, Charles Warner Ltd and The Simons Group Ltd.

The third annual football tournament for Adam was the most successful tournament so far, with 16 teams entering the mens tournament and 4 entering the ladies.
A great turnout saw Inter Menan beat Moorlands Railway 3-0 in the mens final and Moorlands Railway Ladies beat Nettleham Ladies on penalties in the ladies final.
Over £350 was raised. Thanks to all that attended.

Adam Gibbons and Daniel Sibley Memorial Football Tournament, University of Lincoln, Friday 25th September 2009
The second annual University Football Tournament organised by Matt Wilson and the University was a great success yet again and was well attended by the University friends of Adam and Daniel.

Adam and Lana’s Fun Day/5 a-side Football Tournament, Cherry Willingham Playing Field, Sunday 9th August 2009
The second annual football tournament was held in memory of Lana Francis, a former pupil from Cherry Willingham, as well as in memory of Adam. As well as the football, there were numerous other things going on including a BBQ, bouncy castles, face painting much more.
There were 15 teams in the mens football tournament and five in the womens. The mens tournament turned out to be a very competitive event with a few surprises along the way. The final was won by Moorlands Railway Reserves this year as they beat Cherry Allstars 2-0 in the final. The womens tournament was very close as well, with the trophy going to Moorlands Railway Ladies B who overcame Bottesford Ladies in the final.
A successful day with fantastic weather for all who came, raised over £1000. As well as Adam’s fund, this money will go to Support For Soldiers, in memory of Lana.

Garden Party, Clarborough, Saturday 4th July 2009
Adam’s Gran, Dorothy, hosted a second annual Garden Party after last years success and raised an excellent £400.

Sky Dive, 28th May 2009, Langar Airfield
Emma Curtis and Alison Roberts, colleagues of Ben and Ruth, bravely jumped out a of a plane at 13,000 feet to raise money for Adam’s Fund. Thank you Emma and Alison.

London Marathon, 26th April 2009 and Lincoln 10k March 29th 2009
Catherine Tupper, A Nurse from Lincoln County Hospital, kindly ran the marathon in memory of Adam. She found it an amazing experience and hopes to run it again next year. She raised £800 for the fund. Thank you.

Lee Coulson, a friend of Adam’s, ran his first 10k to raise money for the fund and also to raise money for LIVES. Thank you very much Lee.

Adam’s Birthday, Charity Ball, 14th March 2009, Jocastas
A fantastic evening enjoyed by everyone, over £5,000 was raised.

Ceilidh, 7th February 2009, Ealand Victory Hall
A huge thank you to Adam’s Aunt and Uncle, Ann and Alan, who organised a Ceilidh dance with live music by local band Pierrot. Despite the cold and icy weather, the hall was full and the evening was a great success with over £400 being raised.

Donation From Lincoln Moorlands Railway Golf Society
Not an event as such, the LMR Golf Society raised £432 in fines throughout 2008 on tournament days and have kindly donated the money to Adam’s Fund. Thankyou to Steve, Glenn, Darren and all the members of the Golf Society for the donation.

Adam Gibbons & Daniel Sibley Memorial Football Tournament, 19th September 2008, University Of Lincoln.

One of Adam’s friends, Matt Wilson, kindly organised a football tournament through the University of Lincoln to raise money for the Fund and also in memory of Daniel Sibley, another University Student who passed away in December. It was very heart warming to see so many students taking part. Thank you very much Matt.

Launch Day of the Fund/ 11 a side football tournament 24th August 2008
Plough Athletic (Now known as FC Sippers), Moorlands Railway, Moorlands Railway Over 35’s and a Cherry XI took part in an 11 a side football tournament that coincided with the launch of the Charity. Moorlands Railway and Plough Athletic contested the final, which went to penalties after a 1-1 draw in normal time. Railway edged it 5-4 to win the trophy, which was kindly donated by Jim Gillespie. Thank you to everybody who played, Darren Holmes and the Moorlands Railway Club for hosting the event, Jasmine and Jenny for doing the BBQ and to Tesco, Fosters butchers, Steve Burrows and Lincoln City FC for donating raffle prizes.

Garden Party 12th July
Adam’s Gran, Dorothy, hosted a wonderful garden party at her home in Clarborough with cream teas, cake stall, tombola and raffle. Despite the threat of rain, it was a successful day. Thanks Gran.

Dog Walk 5th July
Mary Maguire, a colleague of Adam’s mum, Ruth, organised a sponsored dog walk around Whisby Nature trail. Many colleagues took part with their dogs and raised an impressive £304. Thank you Mrs Maguire.

Race Nights 4th July and 8th August
Moorlands Railway Club hosted the first Race Night to raise money for the fund. It was organised by Darren Holmes and Steve (Adam’s dad) so a big thank you to them and also to Becca, Jess, Leanne and Jasmine who did the tote. Another Race Night was organised by Stuart Sleeman (Adam’s barber for many years) at Monks Road WMC. A big thank you to Stuart too.

Lincoln 10k Road Race 30th March 2008

A huge thank you to everybody who ran the 10k in memory of Adam and raised money for Adam. For a lot of people it was their first 10k and they were very inspiring. A big thanks to all the people who sponsored as well. Those who took part were:

Sponsored Walk linked with Sport Relief 14th March 2008
Many thanks to all the pupils and staff at Cherry Willingham Community School, who did a sponsored walk for Sport Relief. This also happened to be on Adam’s birthday. Over £2,000 has been collected with half the money being donated to Adam’s Fund. A wonderful gesture.

Sponsored Swim 12th March 2008
A huge thank you to Clare McGeachie who swam 100 lengths of North Kesteven Swimming Pool and raised £420. Clare very generously donated half the money to the Adam Gibbons Sports Foundation Fund half to victims of the Sri Lanka Tsunami.
