PE, school sport & physical activity conference

The Lincolnshire PE School Sport and Physical Activity conference is an annual event bringing together industry experts with the aim of providing information and learning opportunities for all educational settings from Early Years through to Higher Education and Further Education.

Planning for the 2021 PESSPA conference is currently underway, if you would like to see the details when they are available, please sign up to our school’s newsletter.
If you’re interested in being involved in the 2021 PESSPA conference, through showcasing your physical activity offer for schools, or you are a school and have ideas for content or would like to see something specific at the conference we’d love to hear from you – contact Jess.

The most recent event (held pre-Covid in March 2019) included informative workshops and inspirational speakers including Danny Cowley and Dr. William Bird, who said in his opening address ‘physical activity is no longer just a nice to have add on, it is something utterly essential’. He went on to focus on the compelling scientific research that physical activity improves children’s concentration and behaviour, promotes lifelong good health that starts at childhood and creates a better, more sociable environment.

He delved into the science behind what causes human’s to age (delegates were fast tracked to experts on mitochondria, telomeres and inflammation) and examined the only known drug to slow down and reverse the effects of ageing, which he called Fiterix, or in other words “going for a walk”.
