About the Course

Cycling UK’s Group Leader Award is aimed at cyclists who have experience riding with groups and would like to share their enthusiasm of a healthy activity with others. The course follows a 2-part process involving self-guided e-learning and a practical training and assessment session. You will receive an e-copy of the course manual prior to the practical date which will be used during your course. During the course, you will explore the tasks needed to organise, lead and review a ride. Highlights include;

E-Learning:

  • Course aims and objectives
  • Leadership
  • Operating procedures.

Practical Training and Assessment:

  • Adjustment, repairs and bike fitting
  • How to assess riders ability
  • Positioning during rides.

This initiative is not just about becoming a qualified ride leader but is also an integral part of our broader mission to encourage an active lifestyle and strengthen community bonds through cycling. By participating, you will play a pivotal role in promoting health and well-being while fostering a greater sense of community engagement.
